UAE Sleep Expert Joins with Health and Wellbeing Platform, VIWELL

Nurture 2 Sleep Founder Julie Mallon to deliver talks, webinars and workshops on sleep and wellness

[Dubai, January 26, 2023] Dubai’s leading sleep expert, Julie Mallon, is partnering with wellness and health platform Viwell to deliver her expertise via the viwell.com website. 

Julie founded Nurture 2 Sleep in 2014 to support, encourage and empower families on their parenting journey. She advocates for evidence-based research encouraging parents to listen to their intuition, recognise their child’s important cues and behaviours, and gently create changes that promote connection, support and the wellbeing of their child and family as a whole.

Put more simply, Julie’s training, experience and techniques have helped thousands of parents in the UAE, the Middle East and across the globe, help get their children off  to sleep – and enjoy more rest themselves. 

Now, the expert is collaborating with the Viwell team to deliver her profound sleep expertise to everyone - offering  webinars, talks, podcasts, and participating under the Viwell’s events wellbeing platform.  

Julie says: “Sleep has a dramatic effect on our wellbeing, and we are only just beginning to understand a little more of why we spend approximately a third of our lives asleep. Sleep restores us physically, mentally and emotionally, playing a critical role in our health including immune function, metabolism, memory and learning. 

The Viwell team is fully aware of these facts. Throughout my long career, I have seen and learnt so much regarding just how sleep – or lack of sleep – affects us in so many ways. I now feel I have found the right collaboration to share my wisdom as far and wide as possible via the Viwell platform.” 

Sleep is an essential and involuntary process, without which we cannot function effectively. Poor sleep and/or sleep loss has a considerable negative impact on health and wellbeing. Sleep helps new nerve structures (synapses) develop, which are vital for learning and memory consolidation. This memory feature is critical for our existence – for instance, the ability to recognise, learn, acquire motor procedures, map physical space, develop language expression and permit creativity – and, of course, our memories give life purpose and meaning.

Julie will also be supporting Viwell’s wellbeing library - a virtual library of multilingual content including videos, audio, and articles – with her sleep support expertise. 

The qualified Gentle Sleep Coach is also a mother of three daughters, and an experienced health practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience as a UK-qualified nurse, midwife, and health visitor. She’s also registered with the International Maternity and Parenting Institute.

Julie adds: “Sleep can result in improved health in every aspect of our lives, from managing weight to improving mental health and focus to preventing and overcoming illness. Many people, however, don’t get the amount of sleep that they really need on a nightly basis. I hope my work with Viwell will deliver the knowledge and tools required to enable much better sleep hygiene – and greater wellness - to a wide audience.” 

Each year, statistics show that 11.3 work days per person are lost to reduced productivity from poor sleep. A large study of employees from Rand attributed a US$1,967 loss in productivity per year per worker, due to poor sleep.

Julie suggests organisations will benefit from her workshops, talks and podcasts – by helping workers understand how to get better sleep.
